The Joys of Being Pregnant and Living Through Morning Sickness

My pregnancy was filled with love, pleasure, and the worst morning sickness I’ve ever experienced. I’m not vain, so gaining a few extra pounds did not bother me at all. In fact, enjoyed wearing my favourite purple maternity tights during this time! It was the morning sickness that nearly cost me my life and my unborn child. I became so dehydrated from vomiting that I had to enter the hospital twice. Luckily, the introduction of a few lightly salted crackers in the morning helped immensely. In about my fourth month of pregnancy I developed some strange food cravings. Not the old clichéd pickles and ice cream but seafood. I would devour any type of shellfish, boiled, fried, or fricasseed. The strange thing was that before my pregnancy I loathed seafood. My little girl was born without complication and continues to fill my life with happiness and joy every day. I am so thankful for this life that I and my husband created.
