Too fast on the gun and you loose out

Bern had been looking for a portrait that he had seen in an art gallery. He had contacted all his friends but they all drew a blank. On one of his online searches, he was shocked to see it being sold on ebay. He could not wait to get his hands on it. He tried as much as possible to get an agreement from the seller fearing that it would be sold right under his nose. He ended up agreeing to pay so much more than the person wanted, making the person doubtful of his intentions. He had to convince him that he would pay using the ebay bill so that the money would not delay. In his fear, he very nearly lost the portrait because he was making demands that could not be understood by the seller. Here he had the opportunity of a lifetime and he was acting as if he needed to hide it because he did not want to be noticed. After finishing with the transaction, he learnt to be more patient. He had bought a fake portrait for so much more, something that he could have prevented were he to take a closer look at it.
